course, and was wondering about the different types of payments that are accepted for the course fee? cash/ credit/ money
order etc.
We accept all of the above; the only checks that
we accept are the kinds that don’t bounce.

3/02/10 I am a NYS licensed Unarmed Security
Guard. However, in 2002 I was arrested for a misdemeanor "unlawful possession of marijuana". I am looking to further
my career and obtain an Armed Guard License. Do I qualify for this?
When dealing with past arrests each situation is considered on a case by case basis. Please obtain a certificate of disposition
from the court that handled your case and then give us a call.

3/10/10 Is there any type of reimbursement
program for taking the security course? I have a client who wants security but wants reimbursement!
We are vendors with the Department of Labor and VESID feel free to contact those organizations
to ascertain if your client qualifies for them to pay for his/ her course.

3/20/10 I’ve take your security guard
class, during the class you used verbal judo to persuade a person. I was wondering were can I take classes in verbal judo?
In most of our more advanced courses we educate our

3/24/10 I what to get Sora trained. Do you
provide Sora certification? If so, will you be my instructor? Where would I go? How do I start?
The Security Officer Registration Act (SORA) is the equivalent to the NYS Security Guard Act
for New Jersey. We do not provide that training, that is only for the state of NJ.

3/25/10 I hold an Orange County NY pistol
permit. I am interested in carrying concealed but my permit says on the back "permission to carry restricted to going
to, from and on bona fide target shooting & hunting". I really do not know where to take this next Do you have any
opinions or suggestions on how I should proceed?
In
order for you to carry concealed in Orange County you must present a reason to the Judge; employment, you are the owner of
a business, etc. Contact the pistol license division that issued you your permit for more information.

3/28/10 I am very interested in the 47HR armed
security course, upon successful completion of this course do you help with job leads.
No we do not provide job placement assistance for the armed course. We will give you a few tips
on how to find employment in the field.

3/28/10 I obtained my NYS security guard license
through your class in '07 and it expired in '08. I completed my armed security guard training on a Fed installation in '08.
Do I still have to get a NYS pistol permit before taking your armed security class or will my Fed armed certificate by enough
proof?
Yes in order for you to take the armed guard course
you must have a valid NYS firearms permit

3/30/10 How often do I have to renew my 8 and 16?
You must renew
your 8 hour annually and once you have the 16 hour course it does not have to be renewed.
2/12/10 How old must I be to obtain an armed
security guard position?
In order to work as an armed guard you must be 21 years of age unless you are former/current military.

1/20/10 I have a Security Officer License
for 10 years, I have my Armed Security License for 6 months. I am currently looking to start up and or freelance some Armed
Security jobs. How do I go about being able to carry on my own?
I
recommended for you to get more experience in the business as an armed guard before trying to startup your own organization.
Work for a company that has been established and gain the appropriate contacts necessary. Find a success coach a develop a
business plan, take your time.

got certified. Do I need a refresher course? (2) Do I have to renew? (3) How can I apply for a security guard card? (4) I
live in NJ now, can I use my certificates over here?
(1) Yes in
order to work in NYS as a security guard you must take an annual 8 hour course. (2) Every two years you must renew your license.
(3) To apply for the state card click here (4) No your NY certificates are only for NY, NJ has different training requirements.

am looking for employment. I love being in the security atmosphere. How can I use My SAD (State Active Duty) experience to
get my armed security license?
Your SAD experience may
allow you to waive having to take a firearms safety course when applying for your firearm permit.

and I have received the training waiver. Do I need further training to receive my armed security license? (2) Do I need to
be employed to receive the armed security license? (3) Could I use the armed security license to work in New York City and
upstate New York?

have to be sponsored by a NYC company to allow you to be armed in NYC, see answer (1).
10/13/09 My son is in the Airforce Reserve.
He has been in the military for 2 years now and lives in Middletown. He has expressed a desire in obtaining a security license.
Would his AF experience aid in his obtaining a license/position in this field?
His military experience does not change the training requirements for him to work in
the security business; however it may present to an employer a higher level of credibility when he is applying for a job.

10/06/09 What is the main difference between your security business and another?
I
appreciate this question, I wish that there wasn’t a difference between our school and others, unfortunately many schools
do not follow the states curriculums and time requirements. We take pride in the standard of training that we provide to our
students.

Yes, in order to perform armed guard services you must have a firearms
safety course, firearms permit, 8 Hour Security Guard Course, 47 Hour Armed Guard Course and be registered with the state.
