The
Pre-Licensing Five Hour Class (MV278) is a classroom class required by the Department of Motor Vehicles in the State of New
York, in order for any new applicant to get a driver's license.
This
class answers many questions about basic driving skills, defensive driving, drinking and driving, traffic signs and other
issues that make better drivers. Improves driving knowledge (makes safer drivers) this class helps to better understand driving
in NY and it is straightforward, with no examination.
Our classes are taught by professional New York State certified driving instructors.Upon completion of our class students will be able
to schedule their road test appointment.
* Students must have a valid New York State learner's permit at the time of
the class.
* Your MV-278 certificate
is valid for one year from the issuance date.
* You must present the original form given by the driving school at the time of your road test.
Should you need a copy of your certificate; you must return in person to our office location, request and
sign the new duplicate certificate and allow 24 hours for processing.

mail or email your full name, phone number and date of the class you wish to attend. Registered students are guaranteed
a seat and will be informed in the unlikely event that a class must be postponed. Tuition fee is $30.00 payable in cash,
credit card, check* or money order* in advance with coupon/code or $35.00 on the day of class.

Ginny Upton has been involved in teaching Defensive
Driving and Pre-Licensing courses in the area's surrounding counties for the last 15 years! She earned her
Dutchess Community College AAS degree and Marist College BS degree both cum laude as an evening student while working
full time. Ginny was also active as a Dale Carnegie graduate assistant for the Effective Speaking and Human Relations
courses in the Newburgh and Poughkeepsie areas.

Pat received her BA in Pyhysical Education at SUNY Cortland,
MA at Western Conn. State College and an Educational Leadership Degree at Southern Conn. State University. She received her
degree to teach driver education in 1991 and has taught that course for many years. She also taught private one on one driving
lessons for over 20 years.
