A person or group of people who professionally protect someone (known as their principal) from personal assault, kidnapping, assassination, loss of confidential information, or other threats. A privately and formally employed person who is paid to protect property, assets and/or people. Often, they are uniformed/plain clothed and act to protect property by maintaining a high visibility presence to deter illegal and/or inappropriate actions, observing (either directly, through patrols, or by watching alarm systems or video cameras) for signs of crime, fire or disorder; then taking action and/or reporting any incidents to their client, employer and emergency services as appropriate.

They may be armed, depending on the laws in their jurisdiction, and have expertise in unarmed combat, tactical driving, and first aid. However, the most important skill for Executive Protection and Security Specialist is the ability to assess a situation and decide how best to respond to minimize danger to his principal.

Most important public figures are protected by several Executive Protection and Security Specialists who work as a unit (or even agency), using sophisticated tactics. Less-important clients (or those with lower risk profiles) are accompanied by a single Executive Protection and Security Specialist, who may double as a driver.

In multi-agent units (like those protecting a celebrity or a head of state) one or more Executive Protection and Security Specialist may specialize in specific tasks, such as: communications/communications protection operation of physical security measures (regarding premises, transport vehicles and personal armor) intelligence, threat/vulnerability/risk assessment and analysis chemical detection, crowd screening and control and other disciplines.

The Executive-Protection and Security Specialist Training program is an integrated academic and practical training curriculum consisting of hours of training in executive protection, dignitary and personal protection, anti-terrorism, celebrity and armed/unarmed security. The program is an intelligence based protection program with a special emphasis on corporate and international protection specialists; the program also covers civil police, and military protocols in the principles of personal protection. The career objective of this training is to prepare the graduate for a professional occupation in corporate, executive, celebrity, dignitary and uniformed protection. Other career alternatives include chauffeur, courier services, hotel and casino security, industrial and private estate protection.

In addition to the below stated certifications, we will offer the student an Identification Credential as a Certified Executive Protection and Security Specialist. This option requires that the student complete all of the below listed curriculums individuals that score an average of 90% or above will receive an Honors-Certified Executive Protection and Security Specialist Credential.

Each course has been designed to provide job knowledge specifically for the Executive Protection and Security Specialist, and is highly focused on prevention, evasion, and defensive techniques. It is important to recognize that the Executive Protection and Security Specialist have one objective, which is to protect their client and his/her family and/or assets.
