This course is designed for those interested in learning how to capture fugitives for a monetary reward (bounty). Other names, mainly used in the United States, include, bail enforcement agent, fugitive recovery agent, bounty hunter and bail fugitive investigator.

They work for the bail bondsman. The bail bondsman is the person who writes the bond for the release of the defendant. A licensed bail bondsman can also act as a bounty hunter for himself and/or another surety company in most states.
